October 21 Distinguished Speakers Event: Pier 21 and the Immigrant Experience
Between 1928 and 1971, over 1.5 million immigrants entered Canada at Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. CNS member Martti Lahtinen and his family were among them. He will join the Chair of the Board of the Canadian Immigration Historical Society, Robert Vineberg, in an online presentation and discussion of the history of Pier 21, leading up to its transformation to its current historical site status.
