We want to hear your stories
about coming to Canada!
If you, your family or an ancestor came to Canada from Norway, we would love to hear how, when, and why! And what happened then? How did it all go?
This Our Stories project was inspired by Crossings 200, the 2025 celebration of the 200th anniversary of the first official emigration from Norway to North America. For the rest of 2025, we will be collecting your stories about coming to Canada from Norway and putting them on our website. They will be password protected, so not visible to the general public, but accessible to CNS members.
After 2025, we will expand Our Stories to include all of the Nordic countries.
INSTRUCTIONS
Your story could be written down or it could be an audio, or visual recording. You might want to include some photographs, newspaper clippings, or other documents. Recommended formats are listed below.
We have volunteers who would be happy to come to your home to interview you and record your story, either in an audio or audiovisual format! Contact us at CNSourstories@gmail.com if you would like to arrange this.
