Jarl Frijs-Madsen is Denmark’s Ambassador (designate) to Canada. He has a strong background in finance, having earned a Master of Economics from the University of Copenhagen, followed by a an MBA from Henley Business School.
His career in Danish government focused on foreign trade and investment promotion, and he has also been involved in Middle East peace processes. Outside of government, he has worked in consulting and finance, and as an entrepreneur.
His foreign postings have been in Bonn, Germany as First Embassy Secretary, and in New York, where he served as Consul General from 2010 to 2015. He has previously served as Denmark’s Ambassador to Norway and as Denmark’s Ambassador to the Netherlands.
We welcome Mr. Frijs-Madsen to Canada and look forward to meeting him as an Honorary Member of the Canadian Nordic Society.
