Tim Mark has resigned from Council after a very effective and fruitful two years as President, preceded by a year as Secretary. During his presidency, attendance at our luncheons and speaker events increased considerably, we hosted a number of very successful special events, and planned our celebrations to honour Finland 100. These, among many other accomplishments, were due in large part to Tim’s leadership and his very hard work.
The Canadian Nordic Society is very grateful to Tim, and expressed our appreciation by presenting him with the “coveted CNS mug”, which he has himself presented to CNS speakers on so many occasions. Tim actually “earned” the mug a couple of years ago when he stepped in at the last minute to give a talk on the Norse Sagas, but hadn’t received it until now. In the photo above, Tim is finally himself the recipient, as President Karin Birnbaum presents it to him at our November luncheon. Three cheers for Tim!
