Little Norway is back on the map!

CNS President Trygve Ringereide and his wife, CNS Secretary Marian McLennan spent September 8 and 9 at a lodge in the Algonquin Highlands, (between Algonquin Park and Muskoka) at the invitation of Jennifer Dailloux. The granddaughter of a Norwegian airman who trained at tLittle Norway, the WWII Norwegian pilot training centre in Muskoka, she is spearheading a proposal to the Norwegian public broadcaster for a documentary about it. Trygve’s father was a pilot and navigation instructor there and Trygve himself is very knowledgeable on the subject. He was asked to be part of a two-day film shoot to be used in the proposal, with the goal of documenting and bringing to life this significant part of the Canadian and Norwegian contributions to the War effort. The photos show the Little Norway recreation lodge (now the Olympia Sports Camp) during the filming process. Trygve is wearing his father's white and blue Norwegian sweater. Thank you to Marian McLennan for the photos. Details on Trygve's upcoming talk on this project will be announced shortly.
