Brigadier-General (ret’d) Sheila Hellstrom is one of the women featured in the March 9, 2020 issue of Esprit de Corps Canadian Military Magazine. She is described as “a trailblazer in the Canadian Armed Forces and Canada’s first female Brigadier General.” The article goes on to say that “Hellstrom’s interest in the military began when Norwegian sailors landed on the shores of Nova Scotia.
